Mike founded Strategic
Health Consulting LLC in 2008 to help healthcare organizations, insurers, and consulting firms achieve success with
their information technology integration and business process optimization initiatives. As SHC's Founder and Managing
Principal, Mike ensures the quality of SHC's consulting engagements and implements innovative management methodologies
that align service delivery with client needs to deliver scalability, quality, and demonstrable value.
Mike has almost 20 years of experience in healthcare
information technology, encompassing technologies, strategies, and processes. He has been recognized for his exceptional
ability to lead projects and people, while effectively spanning business and technical disciplines. A polished and highly
effective communicator, he helps organizations maximize the value of their business and IT initiatives.
Mike has built and directed IT organizations that have
achieved success in areas such as: business process reengineering, IT support for Sales & Marketing and Underwriting,
clinical utilization analysis, provider technology, EDI, and technical infrastructure improvement.
Mike’s record of success also includes management
of a major offshore technology outsourcing effort and management consulting, BPM, and implementation consulting
engagements for clients throughout the United States. At Tufts Health Plan, he conceptualized and led a business development
initiative that dramatically increased electronic transaction adoption by hospitals and physicians, resulting in estimated
cost savings of more than $3 million per year.
Mike holds the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute.
He is an Adjunct Faculty member at Northeastern University, where he teaches graduate-level courses in Technology Project
Management and Healthcare Information Systems. In addition, he provides faculty advisory services to
the Brandeis University graduate Healthcare Informatics program and will be teaching Brandeis' inaugural Emerging Healthcare
Information Technologies course in Spring 2011. Mike holds a B.S. degree from Stonehill College and an MBA from Bentley
College, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Resource Partnership.
